About your tutor
Judy Goring
I have been drawing and making for as long as I can remember, which led me to a career in Graphic Design and becoming a teacher of Art and Textiles in secondary schools. I am now also trained to work with children and young people with visual impairment (QTVI) which has given me a greater appreciation of being fully sighted myself, with a little help!
I have led private Art and Craft workshops for ten years (since reducing to part time in schools) which has allowed me to experiment and play with a myriad of wonderful materials, then teach others how to use them! For the last couple of years, I have had the privilege of leading workshops at Havens Hospice and at Create 98, doing a variety of creative activities with many varied groups. Currently my regular commitment is to the midweek Art Hub, with a great group of 11-16 year olds.
My aim is to show each person (whatever age) how to use a variety of 2D and 3D materials, to learn new skills and to create something individual to them. Once you start on the experimental journey, it can take you anywhere and it never gets boring!
