Throughout the course you will learn the unique characteristics of black and white photography and how different elements contribute to creating eye-catching and emotive images. Sessions will be a blend of theory, practical exercises, and group discussions.

Key topics covered in this course include:

•        Creative composition and framing

•        Tone and contrast

•        Characteristics of light and shade

•        Shape, form, texture and pattern

•        Mood and emotion

•        Tips for editing in black & white


Requirements:

  • A Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR), Film, Mirrorless, Bridge, Advanced Compact or Smartphone Camera.
  • A tripod for stability (if available).
  • Camera manual.
  • Notebook and pen/pencil.
  • Basic knowledge of photography settings and techniques.
